Welcome to my home page!
I am an astrophysicist, interested in using a fusion of theory, numerical
simulations and collaborations with observational astronomers to further
our understanding of the dynamics of the Milky Way Galaxy.
Research Interests
In the last few years I have been investigating the destructive influence
of the Milky Way on its satellite galaxies. The above image is taken from
a numarical simulation of the disruption of a satellite, which was used
to investigate the
fate of the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy. Follow these links to learn more
about
the Milky Way
as a Cannibal
(includes an animation to show what happens to the debris
from satellite disruption) or Galactic
Archaeology
(illustration of what this debris might look like from
our own perspective).
